Marc Meyers holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in music education from Oakland University. He has taught elementary music to students in grades K–5 for thirty years for Walled Lake Schools. He is a past “Teacher of the Year” for Walled Lake Schools. Marc is a two time Newsweek Outstanding Teacher Award finalist. Marc is a staff singer at Christ Church Cranbrook. Previously, Marc had been the baritone soloist for St. James Episcopal Church in Birmingham.
Among his appearances as a concert soloist have been performances with the Livonia Symphony Orchestra, the Macomb Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan Detroit Chorale, and the Detroit Concert Choir. He has sung with the Sounding Light Chamber Choir for the past fourteen years. Marc is a founding member of the Michigan Educators Male Ensemble. He is an avid musical theater performer who has appeared in leading roles for several Michigan professional and community theaters. Favorite roles include Zaza/Albin in La Cage aux folles, the King of Siam in The King and I, Archie Craven in The Secret Garden, The Poet in Kismet, Anthony in Sweeney Todd, Baldy in A Man of No Importance, Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, and Emile de Becque in South Pacific.
